About University of Pannonia

The University of Pannonia has a history that dates back to 1949 when the regional faculty of the Technical University of Budapest was established. In 1951 the faculty gained independence as the Veszprém University of Chemical Engineering and in 1991 it became the University of Veszprém. It was renamed the University of Pannonia in 2006.

The university is located in Veszprém, a city in Western Hungary.

There are four faculties at the university: the faculty of modern philology and social sciences, faculty of engineering, faculty of business and economics, and the faculty of information technology. Each faculty offers a variety of degree programmes at undergraduate and graduate level.

The Student Council is responsible for organising and overseeing the various student clubs, societies and events that take place throughout the year. During the spring semester the university hosts Veszprém University Days, an annual music festival that is enjoyed by both students and staff.

The university welcomes increasing numbers of international students every year thanks to the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme. This programme was established in 2013 by the Hungarian Government in order to increase the number of international students in Hungary. Since 2013 the university has developed partnerships with higher education institutions across the globe to facilitate student exchange programmes.
